Friday: Lunch from Burrito Joe’s
I almost always get a pulled pork burrito with everything. Rice, black beans, hot sauce, jalapeƱos, roasted red peppers, olives, cheese, and salsa all get mixed together in a bowl with sour and guac. Then rolled into a warmed tortilla shell. It comes with tortilla chips and I buy a Boylan’s orange soda, then find a place in the sun to eat. Down by the river, for example. I slowly peel back the foil wrapper and enjoy every bite of the burrito. The subtle heat, the creaminess, the meatiness. The flavors overlap, varying with each mouthful. When I’ve eaten the whole thing, and whatever scraps of chips are left, I feel sated and ready for the weekend.
